Without The Australian College of Professional Styling, I would not have the confidence in achieving all that I have. It has allowed me to start making my dream a reality and really experience the possibilities in different avenues within the industry.

What is styling to me? Styling is my way of life.

Styling is a new beginning; it is expressive, creative, moody, fun and colourful. It is a desire, a dream, a destination that is forever changing. It is a never ending journey of self-exploration.

The Australian College of Professional Styling opened up a world of possibility for me. It was the confirmation I needed in trusting that this was the path I wanted to take and an area I needed to explore further. I found it to be the next step in my journey and my purpose.

I approached The Professional Photo, Film, TV and Personal Stylist’s Course with an open mind, eager to learn all that was being offered to me. All I knew was that I had a great passion for styling, I felt enthusiastic and in my element – but I still wasn’t sure if I was great at it. What came next was new experiences and knowledge. I did not just receive insider tips of the fashion world but I also gained insight into the different areas I could branch out into. With knowledge came power and with that came confidence, change and success.

With all tutorials being informative, interesting and in depth, I felt supported and unstoppable, especially with branding myself. This topic was covered in one of the tutorials and prepared me to leap out and collaborate within the industry. The option to change my career path was in arms’ reach.

Any doubt or fear that previously flashed through my mind at times all faded away as I progressed through the course. I continuously trained myself with family and then friends and then friends of friends and their colleagues. Word spread and I had shopping dates lined up. I received messages asking for tips and outfit styles. The energy from our sessions was priceless.

On a regular basis, I assist clients in choosing an outfit for an event or updating an existing wardrobe piece, to updating whole or parts of their wardrobe. I’ve recently assisted a bride in choosing her dress and her bridesmaid dresses, colour tones of flowers and invites. I’ve also had the privilege to branch into home styling. I love the variety and opportunities that have come my way since completing this course.

As I continue to spread the knowledge I’ve gained, I have also had the opportunity to start my own online jewellery business with my best friend. Styling our models for our photo shoots and choosing locations is all in my creative control, and I’m daring in pairing unusual colours that work well together.

Another major factor which contributed to my success was the support from my tutor and communication with administration staff. The detailed feedback was the motivation and guidance I needed. Without The Australian College of Professional Styling, I would not have the confidence in achieving all that I have. It has allowed me to start making my dream a reality and really experience the possibilities in different avenues within the industry.
