My proudest moment was seeing photos of my styling in the Herald Sun and the Daily Mail… I thoroughly believe that all tips and knowledge learnt from this styling course really has and will help me to succeed in all aspects of styling.

The reason I wanted to learn more about fashion styling is the fact that being a female, as cliché as it is, I love clothing! People always ask me for advice when it comes to fashion. I would’ve loved to design my own clothing range but unfortunately don’t feel I have the necessary talent, so styling is the next best thing for me. I was one of the top 6 finalists for DFO (Melbourne) in a competition where I had to put together an outfit in 45 minutes. This ultimately led me to want to study fashion styling.

The Australian College of Professional Styling was a great affordable option for me as at the time I was working full time and a weekend job. The course also offered a payment plan which was very convenient and affordable. As I was not in the position (or at the age) to quit my job to study, being able to study online at my own pace was wonderful. I never felt stressed while studying even though I had so much on. The assignments were a lot of fun, with plenty of detail and even though I had fashion styling knowledge, I found there was always room to learn and grow. The course taught me a lot of terminologies I had never heard of and also helped prep me for shoots.

Prior to completing the course, I did a lot of volunteer work which led to paid work. It took around six months but I got there. I found working for free opened up a range of opportunities and I met some wonderful people along the way too.

My proudest moment was seeing photos of my styling in the Herald Sun and the Daily Mail. My favourite editorial was one I actually did for free at the start of my career. I’ve now started a small jewellery line and run a blog that’s doing really well alongside working full time. I thoroughly believe that all tips and knowledge learnt from this styling course really has and will help me to succeed in all aspects of styling.
