I absolutely recommend the Australian College of Professional Styling to anyone wanting to become a stylist. It has furthered my fashion skills and given me the confidence to become a personal stylist and launch my own business, Style by Rachel Metropolis.
My love for clothing and fashion started at the age of 5 when I would design and make clothing for my Barbies with the help of my Nana, a very talented dressmaker.
From there, I never looked back, making clothing (sometimes questionable & Avant-garde) for myself as a child and experimenting with all different fabrics and styles. I am a proud country girl, growing up in the Wheatbelt on a farm, where I was always the best dressed (much to my parents’ amusement), driving around checking the sheep.
My passion led me to pursue a career in fashion, where I studied and gained my Certificate 3, Certificate 4 and Diploma in Fashion Design and Technology qualifications.
I have over ten years of experience in fashion, including fashion retail, designing, drafting patterns, making clothing, and now styling.
The Professional Photo, Film, TV & Personal Stylist’s Course was very informative and easy to follow, giving me a huge range of knowledge and guidance. I’m a mum of two small children, so the freedom of studying online at my leisure was amazing! My tutor was always so lovely and helpful with her wealth of knowledge and support. The College was always there for any questions I had and always happy to help.
Now as a certified personal stylist, my extensive experience in various fields of fashion and my natural talent for styling make me well-equipped to understand my clients’ preferences and needs and guide them in establishing their own signature style.
Personal styling is my love, and helping people find themselves through clothing and style is an absolute pleasure.
