Becoming a professional stylist has been a fun and interesting journey with the Australian College of Professional Styling. Although I was a bit hesitant about the distance learning component, I found this enabled me to take my time with The Professional Photo, Film, TV and Personal Stylist's Course without rushing, letting my creative juices flow naturally!
One of the parts of the course I enjoyed the most was exposure to "less popular" styling niches, like food and interior styling. Even though I am not pursuing a career in those fields, it is good to know we have many options.
The assignments created a work-like situation that made me consider all the aspects that come into place to create the best experience for the client. I particularly enjoyed doing research and writing for the assignments. The feedback from the tutor was thorough and useful, and I learned a lot from it.
After finishing the course, I found my true passion and started my own business. Pose Dress Hire is a sustainable service that provides event dressing and stylist sessions to complete the look. Now I know I would not have found my true calling without the help from the Australian College of Professional Styling.
If you are still hesitant, get in touch with their friendly team, but I promise you will love the process and learn a lot about the industry and yourself. Happy styling!
