One day spending time with other new mums at mothers group, it hit me! Mothers lack time and are unable to shop and style themselves as well as they used to… I really wanted to make women feel good about themselves again.

My background is in music where I was a piano and singing teacher for many years however my love and passion was for fashion, I was always told I had an eye for style.

After a year of studying fashion design. I moved to Europe with an incomplete degree. Whilst overseas, I discovered how much I loved fashion but still couldn’t put my finger on what I could do to incorporate this into my working life and have me jumping out of bed for it.

Pregnant with my first child, I spent more time dreaming about a career that I loved where I could work around my family commitments and potentially run my own business.

One day spending time with other new mums at mothers group, it hit me! Mothers lack time and are unable to shop and style themselves as well as they used to. They also often don’t feel their best either. I really wanted to make women feel good about themselves again and I wanted to show women that it isn’t hard to put a few things together and feel proud about how they looked.

I searched and searched online for the best course I could find to give me the skills and qualifications I needed to succeed with this idea.

I found the Australian College of Professional Styling. I wanted to make sure past students had developed skills to go on and open their own businesses as I had in mind and the reviews were outstanding. I contacted the College and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful in answering my questions and sent through all the relevant material to help me make my decision. I made comparisons with other colleges and after a few discussions with my husband, I knew this was the course for me. I could really visualise my future in this industry.

I loved that the Professional Photo, Film, TV & Personal Stylist’s Course was online and flexible enough that I could go at my own pace. Being a working mum, I was short on time and couldn’t be restricted to deadlines for assignments.

I found the content of the tutorials very fun, interesting and easy to read. I could also contact my tutor via email and received a prompt answer from staff if they could help.

Whilst I am still doing the course I have teamed up with my sister in law to create Priscilla and Perrone, starting with Instagram. We are thrilled that we have over 1000 followers in just over a year. Next was Facebook with daily posts and blog and now we are in the final stages of developing our website.

Since then I have been asked to become a stylist/small business owner of Intimo Lingerie, I thought this would be the perfect marriage with my Priscilla and Perrone. The undergarment is all part of the styling process, and Intimo has great staple items for your wardrobe which are essential.

I am loving what I do every day. It is a dream come true, and the best part about it is that I get to work around my family.
