I have already had a few clients book a wardrobe consultation and go on to book personal shopping appointments. So I have definitely made back the money I paid for my course, plus more.

I had been working in fashion retail for a number of years and felt it was a natural progression to move towards styling. I came across the Australian College of Professional Styling website and was impressed with what was on offer with The Professional Photo, Film, TV & Personal Stylist’s Course.

At first I was a bit sceptical doing an online course but was certainly put at ease once I started. I found the course notes clear and self-explanatory. I also liked the fact I was able to work at my own pace. My tutor was professional and extremely helpful with any questions I asked and her advice invaluable in respect to my ideas and assignments.

Since starting the styling course I have had a number of opportunities, one being three days work experience with the styling director of Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane. I also worked as a stylist’s assistant throughout last year. Our client was a major shopping centre. We worked on their seasonal fashion catalogues. Some of my duties involved selecting/pulling product, assisting at shoots, doing returns, and processing the associated paperwork. Thanks to my course notes, I knew exactly what to do.

The course offers useful information and teaches you everything you need to know about styling. This was invaluable as I could apply what I had learned directly to the job. It was great to be able to understand the terminology used. This meant I didn’t have to keep asking the stylist what he meant. I was thrown in the deep end at my first fashion shoot. However, some of the staff mentioned they couldn’t believe it was my first time working on a fashion shoot.

Overall, doing this styling course has given me the confidence as well as the knowledge to pursue my goals. The course tells it like it is without giving you false expectations. It is hard work but also very rewarding.

I intend to work in the area of personal styling and wardrobe consulting. I have my own website and have placed a couple of classifieds in a local magazine. I have already had a few clients book a wardrobe consultation and go on to book personal shopping appointments. So I have definitely made back the money I paid for my course, plus more.

I thoroughly recommend this styling course. I could not have achieved all this without the help of the Australian College of Professional Styling.
