I currently work as a personal stylist for my own brand offering personal shopping, styled photo shoots and magazine editorials.
I felt much more confident after completing each assignment and the feedback provided by my tutor was detailed and constructive.
I would never have discovered my path without this course. It was absolutely worth every penny and I am so pleased to have completed it. This wasn’t an easy task with three small kids, but being able to complete it online was great.
From the outset, the material was engaging and the level of content was beyond my expectation. I had no idea that there were so many opportunities within the field of styling and each week in the course was like opening a box of treasures!
I really credit the Australian College of Professional Styling for giving me the push I needed to fulfil my dreams and to start my business.
During my time at the Australian College of Professional Styling, I built ThatsJordyn.com and started my own business at the age of 21.
I recently had a charity shoot where my role was to style all the models and guide the photographers.
I give live makeup and styling advice online through YouTube and Facebook. </br> I have nearly 2,000 subscribers/followers and usually get an audience of around 1,000 for each live session.
By the time I’d submitted my last assignment, I felt like I’d gotten all the experience I needed to call myself a real stylist and to start charging for my work.
I have gained a great deal of confidence and love that I can help people with the authority of the qualification I earned as a professional stylist.
Not only have I enjoyed the process but I have been able to apply my newly adopted knowledge immediately to my clients and introduce new strategies to my styling business.
I completed the course in 10 months and began my new found career as a personal stylist. I founded All About You Styling, and love the flexibility of working my own hours to work around school pick up and drop offs
My work now ranges from editorial shoots, content creation – working with highly respected photographers, to photographers just starting out – international television programs, as well as personal and corporate styling.
Since completing the course, I have created my own freelance fashion styling business … [styling] clients for major events such as the Logies, Melbourne Cup and major charity events.
The Australian College of Professional Styling will give you all the tools that you will need to build a successful business in the fashion styling industry. Hands down – the best decision I have ever made.
I was awarded two international photography awards for the work I styled for a photographer, Robert Earp. These images were ranked 16th in the world.
After completing the Professional Photo, Film, TV & Personal Stylist’s Course and writing my testimonial shortly after, I am now pleased to provide an update on my continued success.
Completing the course gave me a better sense of identity as a stylist, and I was able to really identify where my strengths and weaknesses were… Having identified and solved what I previously felt were gaps in my styling knowledge, I feel confident and prepared to further my career.
Upon recently graduating from the course, I am already working with paying clients while doing something I absolutely love.
I now have an established business in personal styling and have developed a personal client base. It is lovely to get feedback from my clients that people notice the difference my styling has made to them.
The pride I feel knowing that I’m an ACPS graduate, brings me great joy every day. I undertook the course to help feed my curiosity, build on my knowledge and give me the base to launch my personal styling business.
Undertaking the course and starting my own business has been amazing for my self-belief. And I get to pay it forward. I love to dress people, to make them look and feel beautiful and seeing their own self confidence soar.
So far my favourite event has been a Halloween-themed shoot that featured in a popular overseas Spanish fashion magazine…
My proudest moment was seeing photos of my styling in the Herald Sun and the Daily Mail… I thoroughly believe that all tips and knowledge learnt from this styling course really has and will help me to succeed in all aspects of styling.
The knowledge that I gained from studying with ACPS has given me the edge in the workplace. It has also improved my self-confidence, giving me the courage to take bigger steps.
A willingness to learn and a passion for fashion are really the only prerequisites to start this course.
I feel as though the sky is the limit. With my new found knowledge and confidence (as well as practical tools and constant feedback from tutors gained as I worked my way through this course) I feel I can do anything.
At the beginning of my studies, I was not completely sure what area of styling I wanted to focus on but the course gave me the clarity and guidance I needed to work out what I loved the most and what my strengths were.
This is a course I will recommend to anybody. From the detailed range of topics covered, to insiders’ tips on how to keep up with current trends, to the support of College staff – this course provides everything you need to start immediately as a stylist, step by step.
Before I had even finished the course, I began work as a personal stylist, which led to pioneering a successful personal shopping service in Canberra.
The course truly changed my life. I have grown so much as a person and so have the opportunities that have arisen since completing my studies.
The #1 thing I gained by undertaking The Professional Photo, Film, TV and Personal Stylist’s Course was confidence in myself. I discovered my true passion.
I loved my time with the College as I felt it taught me a lot about the different styling techniques and really assisted me with picking the right career path… Armed with this knowledge, I was able to secure the role of Personal Shopper for Myer.
As store manager for Specialty Fashion Group, I have found the course has sharpened my eye for detail, especially with creating my window displays at work – which caught the attention of my area manager
I have already had a few clients book a wardrobe consultation and go on to book personal shopping appointments. So I have definitely made back the money I paid for my course, plus more.
I have worked on many projects, but some of those I consider to be highlighted include assisting with the coordination of a fashion show for Perth Fashion Festival, where we flew in designers Wayne Cooper and Leona Edmiston.
Anyone who is thinking of undertaking the course and is undecided, I would say ‘just do it’. If you have a love for clothes, fashion and colour, I believe the information will be handy on a day to day basis
What did I learn? I learnt to open my eyes and really look at people, photographs and fashion. I learnt techniques: how to shoot a flat lay, how to fold and stack clothes in preparation for a shoot, how to create a mood board around a novel subject while enjoying and reviving my knowledge of colour styling
I have just completed a very successful state tour presenting to women from a well-known health club chain and picked up many new clients and leads as a result.
Without The Australian College of Professional Styling, I would not have the confidence in achieving all that I have. It has allowed me to start making my dream a reality and really experience the possibilities in different avenues within the industry.
One day spending time with other new mums at mothers group, it hit me! Mothers lack time and are unable to shop and style themselves as well as they used to… I really wanted to make women feel good about themselves again.
I am a wife and a mother, with a business and social obligations, so the flexibility of the course was exactly what I needed. This course has even encouraged me to develop a few more areas in my life, to reach the same level of professionalism and self-satisfaction.
